CATA Info Session
Penn State Transportation Services is inviting students, faculty, and staff to attend an upcoming information session presented by the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) to learn more about public transportation options available at University Park and throughout the Centre Region.
Hosted by Transportation Services in partnership with CATA, the session is designed to help members of the Penn State community discover convenient, affordable, and sustainable ways to travel on and off campus.
The session is open to all Penn State students, faculty, and staff, including those who are new to the University as well as long-time commuters. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about local transportation options, available services, trip-planning tools, and recent transit updates that can help simplify travel on and off campus.
Through a partnership with Penn State, CATA operates the fare-free Blue Loop, White Loop, and Red Link campus transit services, which provide transportation throughout the University Park campus and surrounding areas. CATA also operates fixed-route bus and microtransit services throughout the Centre Region. During the sessions, CATA representatives will provide an overview of available services and resources designed to help riders travel more efficiently throughout the community.
Participants will learn:
- How to navigate the fare-free Blue Loop, White Loop, and Red Link services at University Park.
- How to use CATA services to access shopping, dining, entertainment, and other destinations throughout the Centre Region.
- Ways public transportation can help reduce transportation expenses, ease traffic congestion, and support sustainability goals.
- How to use trip-planning tools, mobile applications, and other resources to make transit travel more convenient.
- How transit can be incorporated into daily routines for commuting, errands, and recreational activities.
This session will include a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions. Transportation Services and CATA staff will be available to discuss routes, trip-planning resources, fare and pass options, mobile payment tools, and other transit-related topics.
